Meet Our Teachers

Ms. Wendy
Director
My name is Wendy Demers, and I have worked in the Early Childhood field for over 30 years. BVS has been my home for seven of them! I have a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of NH. I have earned an Early Childhood Professional Credential Level 3, Early Childhood Administrator Credential Level 1, and Early Childhood Credential Development Specialist Mentor Credential. As Director, I’m thankful for the relationships I build with the families of the children in my care but also for helping the dedicated BVS teaching team grow in their ECE journey!

I have been married for 25 years and have two amazing adult children who I love spending time with. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, spending time with my family, attending concerts, going to the beach, and being up in the mountains.
Ms. Donna
Executive Director & Owner
Our fierce leader shares 41 years of experience in Reggio Inspired Programs. She created BVS in 2005. While with leading her pack at BVS, Donna is also on The Barrington Town Planning Board and is a leader in the Barrington Community. Recently, Donna started the Barrington Child Care Collaborative, which supports Family Child Care Centers in the surrounding communities.
When not with her kitties, Donna spends time at BVS to ensure quality for her families and teachers. Donna puts her heart and soul into everything she does including her love for kids and teaching.

Ms. Tristan
Pines Classroom
Hello, my name is Tristan Lord. I have my Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been in the childcare field for 16 years. I married an amazing man, have a cat named Boo, and two guinea pigs named Tucker and Baby Bear. My favorite things to do in my spare time are reading, writing, coloring, shopping, going to the beach, and playing video games. I have worked with all ages, from infants up to school age children. I love to read, sing songs, and dance with the children.
Ms. Jenn
Pines Classroom
My name is Jennifer, I am a Lead Infant Teacher and I have been working in Early Childhood Education for 3 years. I work primarily with Infants but have spent considerable time with toddlers up to age three. Education has always been central to my life—not just in my career, but also as a mother of three. Balancing both roles has given me a unique outlook on fostering growth in and outside the classroom.
In the moments in between, I enjoy reading, painting, and finding new recipes to try. My husband and I also enjoy photography, hiking and road trips with our kids.

Ms. Amanda
Maples Classroom
Infant/Toddler Specialist
My name is Amanda Shirley, and I've worked in childcare for 20+ years with all age groups. Currently, I am attending NHTI and working towards my associate's degree in early childhood education. I have earned an Early Childhood Teacher Level I credential with an Infant & Toddler Foundational Level 1 endorsement. I have also received a certificate in medical coding. I am so excited to be a lead teacher here at BVS! I love working with young children, watching them grow, learn, and build positive relationships with them and their families.
In my spare time, I love spending time with friends and family, especially my little nieces and nephews! I love being outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, traveling, and floating out on the lake.
Ms. Stephanie
Maples Classroom
Hello, I'm Ms. Stephanie! I have taught in infant classrooms for 4 years. My favorite part about teaching is watching the children grow and learn new things, and all the snuggles of course! I live in Middleton, NH with my husband and 4 year old daughter. We have a dog named Harley, a cat named Ghostie, and a flock of chickens. In my free time I love to go camping, garden, and attempt any DIY craft I can find.

Ms. Courtney
Willows Classroom
Hello! My name is Courtney Whitehouse. I have worked at BVS since July of 2019 and have earned an Early Childhood Teacher Level II credential. While I was in high school, I spent all four years in the teaching program. During my time there, I worked with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children! I also graduated with my Associate's Degree from Great Bay in 2023. I have always wanted to be a teacher, and I am so happy to be a part of the BVS Team!
In my spare time, I love to go to concerts, visit the beach, and spend time outdoors. I love going four-wheeling, mudding, and camping!
Ms. Amie
Redwoods Classroom
My name is Amie Hurd and I have recently started my journey in child care at BVS. I am a proud mother of two beautiful children. I have a degree in Culinary Arts, however after having my second child I was looking for a different career path. After looking into BVS I decided this would be a wonderful place not only for my children to attend but for me to work and learn more about the Reggio program. To me, the Reggio way of teaching and learning is the best form of education for children.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending time with my family, and being outdoors either running, hiking or spending the day at the beach.

Miss Emma
Willows Classroom
Hello! My name is Emma Wiley, and I have lived in New Hampshire my whole life! Growing up, I did dance right down the road at Joy of Dance and loved every moment of it. This is where I first gained my love for taking care of and helping children. I was an apprentice in the 3-5 year old class and I have some of my best memories from there. Now, I am in school at Southern New Hampshire University studying business administration and working towards my master's degree. Although this isn’t in childcare, I see myself forever working with or around children. I am also working towards taking Early Childhood Education classes at NHTI. My love and passion for them will never fade, and I love watching them learn and grow every day. Knowing I’m part of their core memories warms my heart.

Outside of work and school, I am passionate about spending time with my mom, dad, brother, sister, and animals. I also enjoy having BBQs, bonfires, and hanging out with my friends and boyfriend, who are also all local to this area! I enjoy hiking, walking, and going to the gym as well. You can often find me baking cheesecake or cookies as well as cooking pasta, tacos, or burgers in my free time.
