Meet Our Teachers

Emma Eliason

My name is Emma Eliason and I am very excited to be teaching kindergarten at BVS! I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2019 where I earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. During my studies, I completed a full year internship teaching first grade. Since then I have taught kindergarten at a public school, and, most recently, I taught in the Willows room with the three-year-olds here at BVS!

I grew up in Massachusetts where I spent most of my days dancing and working at various childcare centers after school, thus my passion for working with young children began. I went on to major in dance at UNH, while continuing to work with young children at another Reggio-inspired center. I love observing children’s learning and growth as they explore the world. Children also learn through movement and I am excited to bring my passion for dance and movement to the classroom!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors. You can also find me practicing yoga, hiking, or dancing!

Hey everyone! My name is Jackie Dery and I am the new kindergarten teacher! I have lived in Raymond NH since I was a child. Growing up I went to a day camp through the YMCA and where I became a camp counselor. Throughout my journey, I have always surrounded myself with children.

After I graduated from high school, I went to a community college for my associate's degree in graphic design. After a year of working and staring at a computer all day, I realized that I really missed working with children. That’s when I return to college and went to SNHU to receive my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

While earning my degree, I was a site director for a before and after school childcare at an elementary school. We as a group would have many choices to choose from every day, arts and crafts, homework help, STEAM activities, running/tag games, playing outside, and of course dance parties.

During my senior year, I was required to work in a classroom for the full school year. My student teaching placement was in a kindergarten classroom in Manchester NH. I learned a lot about myself as an educator and a learner. I am very excited about BVS full- year kindergarten classroom. We are going to have a lot of fun and learn so much! I can’t wait to meet everyone!
